The Whisky Hotel — the first U.S. hotel by boutique hotelier and restaurateur Adolfo Suaya — opened this week in Los Angeles, according to an announcement obtained by Hotel Dive.
The 132-key, adults-only property is Suaya’s third hotel, following two others in South America, a spokesperson told Hotel Dive.
Guests staying at the Whisky Hotel can experience its “extensive” collection of rare and vintage whiskies in the hotel’s lobby ahead of the opening of an on-property whisky bar, per the announcement.
Suaya is the creator of Los Angeles’ Gaucho Grill, an Argentine steakhouse, as well as the dining concepts Dolce, The Lodge Steakhouse, Surly Goat, The Phoenix and Geisha House, all throughout Southern California.
The hotel will also include rooftop dining and a street-level restaurant. The property’s rooftop features near-360-degree views of Hollywood’s skyline.
Room options include private terraces, city views, views of the Hollywood Hills or suites. Bathrooms feature European-style terrazzo floors and marble benches, and in-room amenities include Nespresso machines and laptop safes.
“The Whisky Hotel isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a destination, an experience,” Suaya said in a statement, adding that the hotel’s design elements and whisky selections have “been chosen with passion and precision.”
Suaya’s other hotels, Casa Suaya and Hotel Clásico, are in Uruguay and Argentina, respectively.
Elsewhere in the U.S., boutique bar brand Death & Co. also offers cocktail-forward stays through its newly launched Midnight Auteur hotels.
