Choice Hotels International Chief Commercial Officer Robert McDowell will depart the hotel company effective Jan. 15, according to Choice’s Dec. 5 filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
McDowell, who has worked at Choice since May 2011, will leave the organization to pursue other opportunities, the filing detailed.
McDowell was appointed to his current role in 2016 after previously serving as senior vice president for global distribution at Choice, according to the hotel company’s website.
During his tenure, McDowell developed and executed Choice’s customer acquisition strategy, relaunched the Choice Privileges loyalty program and “continued to evolve Choice’s digital platform,” according to the company.
Prior to his roles at Choice, McDowell held leadership positions at United Airlines and travel agency C&H International, per his LinkedIn profile.
Choice could not be reached for a Hotel Dive request for comment on McDowell’s departure.
