Dive Brief:
- Choice Hotels International continued its push in extended stay with the opening of two Everhome Suites hotels in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and Cheyenne, Wyoming, the hotel company announced Monday.
- The hotels were developed in collaboration with Highside Companies. Choice and Highside have four Everhome Suites open and 13 under construction as partners, including one that just broke ground in Clarksville, Tennessee.
- Choice has expanded its extended stay portfolio throughout 2024 — alongside competitors like Wyndham Hotels & Resorts — as demand for the product continues to exceed supply, Matt McElhare, vice president and lead for extended stay brands at Choice, told Hotel Dive in October.
Dive Insight:
The recent Everhome openings and groundbreakings aim to “address the continued demand for extended stay accommodations,” while also expanding Choice’s presence in “high-growth regions,” according to the company.
The 114-room Everhome Suites Fayetteville is located in “a growing hub for defense, industrial and healthcare sectors,” according to Choice.
The 114-key Everhome Suites Cheyenne, meanwhile, serves the capital and most populous city of Wyoming. The area is a “growing hub for defense, manufacturing, healthcare and government,” with proximity to Francis Warren Air Force Base, advanced manufacturing employers and medical facilities such as Cheyenne Regional Hospital and Cheyenne VA Medical Center, Choice detailed in a Monday release.
Clarksville, where Choice recently broke ground on another 114-room Everhome, is “known for its strong industrial base and thriving local economy” as the home to more than 50 manufacturing facilities, Austin Peay State University and Fort Campbell, per Choice. That hotel is slated to open in the spring of 2026.
“From military personnel to project workforce and healthcare professionals, these properties are thoughtfully designed to provide a welcoming and comfortable experience for a diverse mix of visitors, ensuring they have everything they need to feel at home during their stay,” McElhare said in a statement.
The hotels are part of Choice’s larger Everhome portfolio and pipeline. The company has seven Everhome hotels open, more than 20 under construction — nearly 30 of which are expected to open by the end 2025 — and more than 65 in the pipeline.
As of the end of Q2 2024, Choice had more than 350 hotels in the pipeline across its four extended stay brands: Everhome Suites, WoodSpring Suites, Suburban Studios and MainStay Suites.
In May, Choice debuted a new brand prototype for Everhome, opening the first hotel with the model in Nampa, Idaho. The next month, Choice expanded Everhome with an opening in Lexington, Kentucky, and three groundbreakings on the East Coast in New Hampshire, New York and New Jersey. In October, Choice opened its 500th extended stay hotel, an Everhome in Glendale, Arizona.
Choice is among Wyndham, My Place Hotels, LivAway Suites and other hotel players rapidly expanding in the extended stay space as the product type remains the “darling” of the industry.
