Crescent Hotels & Resorts has assumed management of Le Merigot Santa Monica, the company announced Thursday.
The hotel joins the Virginia-based hotel management company’s Latitudes: Lifestyles by Crescent portfolio, dedicated to luxury lifestyle hotels.
Le Merigot Santa Monica has 175 guest rooms, many of which offer terraces and ocean views, along with a pool, fitness center and beach access with gear and bikes available to rent. It is also within walking distance of the Santa Monica Pier and downtown Santa Monica’s Third Street Promenade, an upscale shopping destination.
As the luxury lifestyle segment grows in the U.S., other hospitality companies are beefing up their portfolio offerings in the division.
In June, Pyramid Global Hospitality added six hotels to its luxury lifestyle segment. The same month, Hersha Hospitality Management announced the creation of its luxury lifestyle division, and investment firm NewcrestImage announced a strategic partnership with Coury Hospitality in a bid to develop and acquire new hotels in the luxury lifestyle space.
Crescent’s portfolio spans more than 120 properties in the U.S. and Canada. The company describes its Latitudes portfolio as a modern management platform for lifestyle hotels “where creative concepts connect with modern travelers.”
