New York hotel owner and operator Loews Hotels & Co named Dan Flannery its next chief operating officer, according to a release obtained by Hotel Dive.
Flannery, who has more than 40 years of hospitality experience, joins Loews from Cape May, New Jersey-based Cape Resorts, where he has been CEO since 2022.
At Loews, Flannery will be tasked with enhancing operational efficiency, improving guest experience and driving overall business growth across the company’s 25-hotel portfolio. He has a background across operations, training, brand development, food and beverage concepting, financial management and team building, Loews shared.
Prior to Cape Resorts, Flannery launched the luxury lifestyle hotel brand Edition alongside hotelier Ian Schrager. While at Edition, where he was senior vice president and managing director, he opened and operated the brand’s first 15 hotels.
“Dan's impressive background, tenure in the industry and all-around skill set position him as the ideal person to lead our operations efforts,” said Alex Tisch, Loews’ president and CEO, in a statement. “His qualifications have us even more excited to see what's next in this area.”
Throughout his career, Flannery held regional and general manager roles for Ritz-Carlton, including The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park. He currently sits on the Industry Advisory Board for Penn State’s School of Hospitality Management.
