Dive Insight:
As part of the rebranding, the soon-to-be Signia by Hilton Diplomat Beach Resort will undergo an aesthetic transformation to offer “approachable luxury,” according to the brand.
The hotel’s public spaces will include a new “lush, luxe spirit,” designed to pay respect to “the destination’s storied past while also embracing the sophisticated style” elements of Signia by Hilton, the release states.
The grand atrium and lobby will become a modern, multi-story conservatory filled with exotic plants and naturally inspired furniture. The entry space will include a central bar with seasonally rotating signature cocktails and Mediterranean-inspired small plates.
The property will also get a revamped pool deck with multiple pools that lead to the beach, according to the brand. The new infinity pool terrace will offer adults-only cabanas, luxury daybeds and lounge spaces with fire pits centered around an outdoor bar.
Additionally, a Club Signia will be added to the 33rd floor, offering 6,660 square feet of terrace and indoor space with views of the Atlantic Ocean. The renovation will also touch the hotel’s six dining concepts, including oceanfront grill Playa, which will get a new bar with lounge seating and a menu upgrade.
Meanwhile, the property’s 200,000-plus square feet of meetings and events space will be updated in line with “Signia by Hilton’s commitment to serving today’s premium groups and global travelers,” according to the brand. This includes the addition of an oceanfront event terrace.
Meetings and events space is the focal point of the 976-room Signia by Hilton Atlanta, which opened earlier this year aimed at capturing recovering group and business travel to the market.
The 800-room Signia by Hilton underway in downtown Indianapolis and set to anchor the Indiana Convention Center will similarly target corporate travelers, according to the brand. The hotel is slated to open in 2026.
Other open Signia hotels are located in Orlando, Florida, and San Jose, California.
The Diplomat Beach Resort currently operates under Hilton’s Curio Collection. Its renovation and rebranding comes almost two years after funds managed by UBS Asset Management's real estate business and Trinity Real Estate Investments acquired the hotel for $835 million.
