Texas developer Jackson-Shaw and Arizona’s Holualoa Companies will break ground next month on a dual-branded AC Hotel by Marriott and Element by Westin in Phoenix. The property is expected to open in late 2025.
The two Marriott-brand hotels will be connected under one roof in Phoenix’s Norterra neighborhood. The four-story property will feature 274 guest rooms — 195 at the AC Hotel by Marriott North Phoenix and 95 at the Element by Westin North Phoenix.
The property will offer 8,000 square feet of meeting space, two group communal rooms, a fitness center, a courtyard and an event lawn.
“Both companies know that Phoenix is a popular destination for leisure and business travelers, especially now with the development of the $65 billion Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company site and supplier plants,” said Jackson-Shaw senior vice president of hospitality, Joe Blewitt, in a statement.
The site spans more than 1,000 acres in north Phoenix, according to The Arizona Republic.
Holualoa Companies Chief Investment Officer Aroon Chinai said the hotel “has been designed to serve the North Black Canyon Corridor business demand, which is being supercharged by the new TSMC plant and its adjacent support companies.
“As a result, much consideration of the location’s diverse needs has been integrated into the design and experience,” Chinai added.
That design includes “European style” rooms with a “modern feel” at the AC Hotel by Marriott, and rooms made for longer-stay guests at the Element by Westin.
