The first Spark by Hilton hotel has opened in Mystic, Connecticut, Hilton Chief Brand Officer Matt Schuyler announced on LinkedIn Monday.
Spark by Hilton marks the hotel company’s entry into the premium economy category. The brand focuses on practical amenities like adjustable work stations, simple breakfasts and multi-purpose seating.
“Spark signifies the start of something great – a moment of ignition as we add energy and momentum into the premium economy category to deliver the most reliable and friendly stays,” Schuyler wrote on LinkedIn.
Spark by Hilton hotels feature bright, simple design touches. Each hotel will have exterior statement walls. Photos of the Mystic location show painted purple accents on the building’s front facade.
Spark by Hilton employs a conversion-forward model, an increasingly popular option for hotel companies seeking a development option that is more cost- and time-effective than new construction.
Hilton did not disclose where Spark by Hilton hotels will open next.
