Gale Miami Hotel & Residences will open June 1, catering to “strong demand from worldwide travelers,” in South Florida, Gale Hospitality Group announced Thursday.
Situated in downtown Miami, the 240-key Gale Miami Hotel & Residences will offer a variety of studio, one- and two-bedroom units available for daily hotel bookings or short-term rental.
The property will feature some 70,000 square feet of amenity space across three floors, including a hammam with a steam room and sauna, a fitness facility, a yoga lounge and treatment rooms offering spa services.
The Gale Miami Conference Center will span 20,000 square feet on the eighth floor. The property will also include 9,000 square feet of restaurant space, including an Italian concept, a street-front restaurant, an American steakhouse and a Mediterranean-style restaurant with an outdoor terrace.
The development of Gale Miami Hotel & Residences was bolstered by strong international traveler demand that has contributed to “steady growth and transformation” of South Florida's hospitality sector, according to Gale Hospitality Group.
In 2023, greater Miami and Miami Beach welcomed more than 27.2 million visitors, according to the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau. Those visitors generated an estimated $21.1 billion in spending, up 2% year over year. And the market has seen a “promising start to 2024,” according to GMCVB President and CEO David Whitaker.
Gale Miami Hotel & Residences represents one of the latest dual-concept hotel and residences projects to open in Miami. Andrew Dickey, managing director with JLL’s Hotels & Hospitality investment sales team in Miami, previously told Hotel Dive a large number of the luxury hotel projects in the market feature a residential component.
Another hotel and residences property underway in Miami is the two-tower Mandarin Oriental hotel and branded residences in Brickell Key.
Also in the market, Fontainebleau Miami Beach is planning to open the 45,000-square-foot Coastal Convention Center.
