Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol opened in Bristol, Virginia, parent company Hard Rock International announced Friday. The property is the first Hard Rock location in Virginia.
The $500 million development, according to the Bristol Herald Courier, spans 620,000 square feet and includes more than 300 hotel rooms, seven dining options and a 2,000-seat venue, Hard Rock Live.
Gaming options comprise nearly 1,500 slot machines, more than 50 table games and a sportsbook. Food and beverage outlets include a signature Hard Rock Cafe, a steak and seafood restaurant, a noodle bar, a coffee shop and a marketplace.
The casino previously operated from a temporary facility dubbed Bristol Casino — Future Home of Hard Rock between July 2022 and earlier this month. The temporary casino served more than three million guests, doling out more than $262 million in jackpots and paying over $68 million in gaming taxes to the state of Virginia.
"This milestone brings great pride to Bristol," said Jim McGlothlin, chairman of The United Company, and Clyde Stacy, president of Par Ventures, in a joint statement. "Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol is creating well-paying jobs and generating new tax revenue across Southwest Virginia, and local businesses in the Tri-Cities region are already seeing increased tourism and spending."
The Bristol resort is Hard Rock’s 16th casino, the Bristol Herald Courier reported. The company recently “topped off” its casino resort development in Kern County, California.
Hard Rock is also developing a 427-room hotel in Long Beach, California, and expanding its Reverb hotel brand in the U.S.
