Hotel management, investment and development company Highgate has appointed Matt Greene to the newly created role of executive vice president of luxury residences.
Greene will oversee Highgate’s growing portfolio of managed condo-hotels and residences, including The Elder Hotel in Miami and The Altair Hotel in Bay Harbor, Michigan. He will report to CEO Arash Azarbarzin.
Greene previously served as EVP of lifestyle operations for Aimbridge Hospitality’s Evolution vertical, where he oversaw the lifestyle hotel portfolio in addition to 10+ new hotel developments across the U.S. and Mexico.
“At Highgate, we are always seeking new opportunities to apply our expertise to drive value for guests and owners,” said Azarbarzin. “Matt is the powerhouse who can help lead our dedicated condo-hotel/branded residences team and ensure we have all of the tools to deliver great returns for our partners.”
Highgate has also appointed Elizabeth Redmond to chief accounting officer. She succeeds Joseph Klam, who will assume the new role of chief administrative officer of financial systems and reporting. Redmond previously served as chief accounting officer of Choice Hotels International, where she led enterprise-wide process reengineering efforts, implemented complex accounting standards and improved internal control structures and procedures.
“Throughout her career, Elizabeth has demonstrated a passion for driving new, dynamic ways of managing complex accounting and financial systems in the hospitality industry,” said Highgate CFO Ned Martin.
“Her approach is very much in line with Highgate’s strategic vision, and she will be a powerful asset as we continue to evolve.”
Highgate’s portfolio includes more than 500 hotels across North America, the Caribbean, Latin America and Europe comprising more than 84,000 owned or managed hotel rooms.
