Hilton is in talks to acquire the Graduate Hotels brand, according to a Bloomberg report.
Sources told Bloomberg the deal would not involve Hilton taking on Graduate Hotels’ real estate. They added that a transaction has not been finalized, meaning talks could end or another buyer could emerge.
A Hilton spokesperson told Hotel Dive, “We cannot comment on market rumors or speculation.”
As of November, there were 37 Graduate Hotels, including four in various stages of development. The brand’s hotels are in university-anchored towns in the U.S., with the exception of two properties in the U.K.
Nashville-based real estate developer AJ Capital Partners currently owns the brand.
The brand plans to open its next hotel, Graduate Princeton, in Princeton, New Jersey, this spring.
Representatives of Graduate Hotels did not respond to Hotel Dive’s requests for comment by press time.
