Dive Insight:
With its latest expansion plans, Holiday Inn Club Vacations aims to tap into the resurgence of multigenerational trips, which are experiencing an uptick post-pandemic.
“Multi-generational travel is more than a short-term trend — we believe this will be the way families vacation for years to come," said John Staten, president and CEO at Holiday Inn Club Vacations Incorporated, in a release.
"Launching this new offering at our flagship resort in Orlando, Florida, was an obvious fit. Our company was established at this resort more than 40 years ago with family travel in mind, and now The Residences will allow us to introduce a whole new way for families to come together," Staten said.
The first phase of The Residences project, which is expected to open in December 2024, will include four homes, with the possibility of up to 16 homes in total in the future. Initially, booking will only be available to Holiday Inn Club members.
The Orlando-based vacation ownership company’s resort network currently includes destinations throughout the U.S., including Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Gatlinburg, Tennessee; Lake Tahoe; Las Vegas; and New Orleans. In May, Holiday Inn Club Vacations also acquired four beachfront resorts located in Cancun, Playa del Carmen and along Mexico’s Riviera Maya.
The homes at The Residences will feature six-bedroom, six-bathroom layouts that span more than 5,575 square feet of living space with primary suites on each side. Amenities will include a chef’s kitchen with island seating and a large dining room with seating for 20, a large gathering room with 85-inch TVs, game and fitness rooms and golf cart use.
Outside, each home will have a private screened-in pool with a sun shelf, hot tub, sunbathing area and fire pit, along with a covered patio with an outdoor kitchen.
Holiday Inn Club Vacations at Orange Lake Resort, which is located next to the Walt Disney World Resort, currently houses more than 2,400 one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom villas and offers a variety of amenities, including several pools, a 1,200-foot lazy river, water slides, restaurant and dining options and four championship golf courses.
