InterContinental Indianapolis opened in the city’s downtown, steps from the Indiana State Capitol, parent company IHG Hotels & Resorts announced Friday.
Part of IHG’s luxury and lifestyle portfolio, InterContinental Indianapolis is the first luxury hotel to open in the city in two decades, per an IHG release. Housed in Indianapolis’ historic 100-year-old Illinois Building, the hotel underwent a $120 million restoration by owner and developer Keystone Group before officially opening last month.
InterContinental Indianapolis offers 170 guest rooms and suites, each with upscale touches like a walk-in shower, Black Label BeautyRest mattresses and a Nespresso Machine, as well as a curated minibar.
The property also includes two new dining concepts: Astrea Rooftop Bar and the restaurant Serliana. With indoor and outdoor spaces, Astrea is the city's first rooftop bar, according to IHG. Serliana, meanwhile, serves classic breakfast, lunch and dinner options with an elevated twist, per the hotel. The existing Hyde Park Steakhouse is also open on the property’s ground floor.
A “hallmark” of the InterContinental brand, per IHG, the hotel offers more than 5,000 square feet of meetings and events space, including a 2,500-square-foot ballroom and an executive board room, to serve a gambit of events, including weddings, galas and corporate meetings. The hotel will also offer a 24-hour fitness center.
The launch of InterContinental Indianapolis is one of several highly anticipated U.S. hotel openings in 2025. Luxury properties set to debut this year include Delano Miami Beach and Fairmont New Orleans.
In Indianapolis, other big hotel projects underway include Hilton’s 800-room Signia hotel set to open in the city’s downtown in 2026, as well as the 170-key Shinola Hotel by the namesake Detroit-based luxury design brand, scheduled for a 2027 completion.
