JLL Americas Hotels & Hospitality Group has named Dan Peek president, JLL announced in a release obtained by Hotel Dive Wednesday.
Peek, who has 25 years of experience working in hotel capital markets, will lead strategic growth efforts nationwide, according to JLL. He will report to Mark Gibson, JLL’s Americas Capital Markets CEO, and work closely with Kevin Davis, Americas CEO of JLL’s Hotels & Hospitality Group.
Together, Peek and Davis will work on client relationship management, investment sales, financing and tax and asset management strategy.
In a statement, Davis said Peek “brings a complimentary skill set to the team and will be a key driver of our investment sales advisory business and client relationship management efforts.”
“We’ve set forth a tremendously aggressive growth plan and I look forward to working with Dan to execute,” Davis added.
Peek was previously president and chief operating officer at boutique real estate capital markets advisory firm Hodges Ward Elliott. Prior to that, he was senior managing director and head of the hospitality practice group HFF, where he founded the firm’s dedicated hotel platform, according to JLL.
Peek is also a co-founder of boutique firm Regent Street, an affiliate of The Plasencia Group, which specializes in sales, financing and advisory services for “distinctive” hotels and resorts.
Peek has completed nearly $60 billion in investment sales, debt and structured finance transactions over the course of his career, according to JLL.
A graduate of Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, Peek is a member of the Urban Land Institute’s Hotel Development Council, the American Hotel & Lodging Association’s Investment Roundtable, the AHLA Foundation’s Board of Trustees and the Cornell Real Estate and Finance Center’s advisory board.
