José Andrés Group — celebrity chef José Andrés’ Washington, D.C.-founded restaurant group — and New York-based real estate development firm Thor Equities are launching a luxury hotel.
Slated to open in 2027, The Bazaar by José Andrés will feature 67 luxury rooms and a private membership club in Washington’s Georgetown neighborhood.
The property will include multiple food and beverage outlets curated by José Andrés Group as well as events space, a wellness center and “high-end” retail, the restaurant group shared in a release obtained by Hotel Dive.
According to the announcement, the private membership club will be “a focal point of the project,” offering exclusive members-only benefits and venues such as The Bazaar Club, a penthouse with a signature restaurant and views of the Georgetown neighborhood.
Thor Equities Group Chairman and CEO Joe Sitt said the development will be “an exciting new destination for the local community and visitors from around the world.”
Sitt said the private club, in particular, will be “designed to connect thought leaders and foster a sense of community.”
José Andrés Group currently operates 40 restaurants, bars and lounges under 20 brands. The Bazaar by José Andrés will be the group’s first hotel.
Thor Equities’ $20 billion property portfolio includes luxury hotels under the Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons brands, as well industrial, laboratory, residential, office and mixed-used assets.
