The American Hotel & Lodging Association tapped company veteran Kevin Carey as AHLA Foundation President and CEO, effective immediately, the organization announced Monday.
Carey, who succeeds Anna Blue in the role, will continue to serve as chief operating officer of AHLA. He previously held the title of AHLA’s interim president and CEO last year, following William “Chip” Rogers’ departure in March 2024.
In his new role, Carey will work with the AHLA Foundation team to “expand [its] collective impact, broaden industry engagement, and develop programs that welcome and support both current and future hospitality professionals,” he said in a statement.
“Kevin is one of the industry’s most respected and seasoned leaders and a strong advocate of the AHLA Foundation and its team,” AHLA President and CEO Rosanna Maietta, who was appointed to the role in October, said in a statement. “I couldn’t think of a better person to lead the Foundation given his experience in designing and securing funding support for broad-based industry initiatives.”
In recent years, AHLA Foundation has expanded its team and enhanced the visibility and impact of programs including ForWard, aimed at elevating women in hospitality, according to AHLA. The foundation also works on its No Room for Trafficking initiative, created to unite the hotel and lodging industry around collective anti-trafficking efforts.
Carey’s appointment comes after AHLA named its 2025 officers, executive committee and board of directors in January.
