Dive Brief:
- The Lum Hotel Los Angeles Stadium District, part of PM Hotel Group’s luxury and lifestyle collection Modus, has joined Hilton's portfolio and will be undergoing renovations to become a Tapestry Collection property by late 2025, according to a release obtained by Hotel Dive.
- Owned by Chartres Lodging Group, the 179-room hotel includes guest rooms outfitted with modern amenities such as a full-size work desk, a coffee maker, a mini fridge, HDTV with streaming capabilities, high-speed Wi-Fi and a private balcony or terrace. The property also includes an outdoor pool and fitness center as well as a restaurant and rooftop bar.
- With Los Angeles playing host city to the NBA All-Star Game next year and Super Bowl LXI in 2027, the property, which is located near both the Intuit Dome and SoFi Stadium, is a strategic addition to the Hilton brand as sports tourism continues to gain momentum.
Dive Insight:
With renovations currently underway, The Lum Hotel Los Angeles Stadium District will be primed for upcoming tentpole events including the NBA All-Star Game, which will be held at the Intuit Dome in February 2026, and Super Bowl LXI at SoFi Stadium in February 2027. The hotel is remaining open during the renovations.
“With its prime location near world-class venues and rebranding as a Tapestry by Hilton, The Lum is poised to become a top destination for travelers visiting the area for business, sports, or entertainment,” said Paul Sacco, chief growth and development officer for PM Hotel Group, in a statement.
It’s located at the entrance to the Intuit Dome, which is the home of the Los Angeles Clippers, and directly across from Hollywood Park, and is the only upscale hotel within walking distance of SoFi Stadium, YouTube Theater and Hollywood Park Casino, per the release.
The proximity to these experiential spaces falls in line with Hilton’s 2025 Trends Report, which found that one in four travelers plans to seek unique experiences in this year, along with an increase in sports tourism.
Hospitality pros told Hotel Dive earlier this year that sports tourism nationwide will continue to “flourish” in 2025. Hilton, specifically, saw its worldwide sports sales revenue triple in volume from 2019 to 2024, according to Frank Passanante, senior vice president and global head of sales at Hilton.
Other Tapestry Collection hotels to open of late include The Knoll Hotel Napa Valley in Napa, California, and The Lofton Hotel in Minneapolis.
