Marriott Hilton Head Resort & Spa has completed a $10 million second-phase renovation.
The resort’s 513 guest rooms and suites, including a presidential suite and four vice presidential suites, have been renovated to reflect a neutral, sea glass-hued aesthetic, Marriott said in a release. Each room features ocean or island views from a large-format window.
Meanwhile, the exterior of all the resort’s buildings has been painted using a coating technology designed to withstand the salt air environment. The property’s entryway and porte-cochere have also received a revamp, with a resurfaced driveway and new light sconces.
The South Carolina resort on Hilton Head Island unveiled a first phase of renovations in 2017, including the opening of its Blue Restaurant & Lounge. The property offers five food-and-beverage concepts, including poolside bars and restaurants, as well as 46,000 square feet of event space and 26 meeting rooms.
Marriott Hilton Head Resort & Spa is situated within the residential community Palmetto Dunes, which includes three miles of beachfront and three PGA golf courses. The location is a popular destination for water sports, as well as other outdoor activities including biking, tennis and pickleball. Previous guests of the hotel include Presidents George W. Bush, George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton.
Kentucky-based private hotel company Columbia Sussex, one of the largest Marriott franchisees in the country, owns and manages the resort. The company is currently in the process of renovating several of its Marriott properties, including Columbia Marriott in Columbia, South Carolina; Marriott Anchorage Downtown in Anchorage, Alaska; Marriott Melville on Long Island in New York; and Marriott Sanibel Harbour Resort and Spa in Fort Myers.
Columbia Sussex currently manages 41 hotels, including Marriott, Hilton and Hyatt brand properties.
