- Mortenson Development will break ground on a Motto by Hilton hotel in Nashville's South of Broadway (SoBro) neighborhood this month, Hilton announced Wednesday.
- The hotel will feature a “uniquely flexible” design, according to the announcement, with 30% of guest rooms being linkable to allow travelers to adapt their room selections to their group size.
- Motto by Hilton is one of a handful of brands in Hilton’s lifestyle portfolio, which the company is expanding rapidly. That portfolio also includes Tempo by Hilton, which opened a hotel in Nashville last month, and, soon, the newly acquired Graduate Hotels.

The Motto by Hilton hotel will include a full-service restaurant, multiple bars, a fitness center, flexible meeting space and a common area with an outdoor patio.
The hotel site is three blocks south of Broadway Street and within walking distance of several major attractions, including the Country Music Hall of Fame, Music City Convention Center, Bridgestone Arena and Ascend Open Air Amphitheater.
The hotel’s design team includes Nashville’s ESa Architects and Denver-based Wild Muse Interiors.
The property is slated to offer 256 rooms and rise 13 stories and is scheduled to open in late 2025, according to Nashville Business Journal.
Motto by Hilton is one of Hilton’s lifestyle brands, which also include Tempo by Hilton and Canopy by Hilton. The company projects that its lifestyle pipeline will more than double between 2022 and 2032.
And on Thursday, the company announced its acquisition of the college town-focused Graduate Hotels brand, which will join Hilton’s expanding lifestyle portfolio.
Motto by Hilton describes itself as a lifestyle brand that allows guests “to create their own stay experiences in the world’s most sought-after cities.” The brand opened a new hotel in New York’s Times Square in September, shortly after opening the first-ever Tempo by Hilton in the same neighborhood.
Earlier this month, Hilton debuted another property in the Nashville market, the 298-room onsite airport hotel Hilton BNA Nashville Airport Terminal.
