Dive Insight:
Nobu Hotel Caesars New Orleans opened several months after it was first announced as part of Caesars’ redevelopment of Harrah’s New Orleans. Caesars also opened a Nobu restaurant at the resort as part of the project. The entire resort spans 790 rooms and 12 restaurants.
The Nobu-Caesars collaboration creates the “ultimate destination for visitors seeking exceptional luxury [and] culinary excellence,” according to Nobu. Caesars New Orleans’ general manager, Samir Mowad, previously said the Nobu hotel will “elevate the offerings” for guests at the resort.
The luxury hospitality brands have partnered in the past, opening the inaugural Nobu Hotel at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas in 2013. And last year, Nobu Hotel Caesars Atlantic City opened its doors.
Caesars is expanding nationwide beyond its Nobu tie-up. The company, which operates several prominent resorts along the Las Vegas Strip, opened the 320-key Caesars Virginia resort and casino in Danville, Virginia, last month.
Caesars hopes that tailwinds from the Virginia opening, as well as its New Orleans resort, will offset recent revenue declines, CEO Tom Reeg previously said.
Caesars New Orleans is located several blocks away from Bourbon Street, where at least 15 people were killed earlier this week in a New Year's Day terrorist attack, according to The Associated Press. Nobu Hotels could not be reached for comment on how the incident is impacting the opening.
