Caesars Entertainment is redeveloping one of New Orleans’ iconic hotel and casino properties and bringing its long-term partner, Nobu Hospitality, along for the ride.
In a multimillion-dollar transformation, Harrah’s New Orleans will become Caesars New Orleans later this year, the resort operator detailed in a Wednesday release.
The property is undergoing renovations, including the addition of new amenities like a 340-room hotel tower, a Nobu hotel and restaurant, and other new dining options.
The Nobu hotel will span two floors of the Caesars Tower, featuring 54 guest rooms that blend “Japanese influences with modern elegance,” according to Caesars. The hotel is designed by New York-based architecture firm Rockwell Group.
Nobu Hospitality, the global luxury lifestyle brand founded by Nobu Matsuhisa, Robert De Niro and Meir Teper, is also bringing a restaurant to the property. The Japanese seafood concept will offer “an intimate dining experience,” Caesars said.
“We’re in the home stretch of our transformation and adding both a Nobu Hotel and restaurant to our resort will further elevate the offerings our guests can expect at Caesars New Orleans,” said Samir Mowad, senior vice president and general manager of Caesars New Orleans.
The Nobu restaurant is slated to open in late summer, just before the hotel opens this fall.
Caesars Entertainment and Nobu Hospitality have partnered several times in the past. The operators first worked together on the inaugural Nobu Hotel at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, which opened in 2013. And earlier this year, Nobu brought a hotel to Caesars Atlantic City after opening a restaurant at the property in 2022.
Across its portfolio, Caesars recently transitioned the Jubilee Tower at Horseshoe Las Vegas to the Versailles Tower at the adjacent Paris Las Vegas in a $100 million renovation. The company is also underway on a 223-acre mixed-use development with The Cordish Companies in South Florida.
Accor is another hotel operator expanding in New Orleans, with a 250-key Fairmont hotel slated to open in summer 2025.
