Dive Insight:
With more than 15 years of industry experience expanding the footprint of hospitality brands like Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and Six Senses, Miele will now do the same for Proper Hospitality.
Miele will lead the brand’s growth across new markets. According to the company’s website, Proper Hospitality hotels are “coming soon” to Dallas and to Lake Tahoe and Palm Springs in California — all of which have seen heightened luxury lifestyle hotel activity in recent months.
The Proper brand portfolio currently includes four hotels in Austin, Texas; downtown Los Angeles; San Francisco and Santa Monica, California. Proper Hospitality also operates sister properties under the Avalon and Hotel June brands.
The company is among others — including Hyatt, IHG Hotels & Resorts and boutique operators — making a strategic push in the luxury lifestyle segment as leisure travelers increasingly demand the guest experience these hotels can provide, including enhanced design and amenities.
Despite the proliferation of boutique and lifestyle hotels, Proper Hospitality claims its properties stand out among competitors, with “convenience of location and world-class amenities,” according to its website.
The hotel company focuses on on-site food and beverage concepts as well as wellness offerings, including spas, fitness centers and outdoor spaces.
