Raffles Boston has begun accepting bookings for stays beginning Sept. 1 of this year, according to a release obtained by Hotel Dive.
The mixed-use development, the first in North America for Singapore-based Raffles Hotels & Resorts, will have 147 rooms and 16 gathering spaces in Boston’s Back Bay. The hotel is situated within a 35-story, LEED Gold building and includes 21 signature suites, eight premier suites and one presidential suite. AccorHotels acquired the Raffles brand in 2016.
The New York-based Stonehill Taylor designed the guestrooms and the majority of its amenity spaces, with inspiration from Boston’s Emerald Necklace, the chain of parks and waterways that runs throughout the city and nearby Brookline, Massachusetts. The property features botanical influences, as well as materials related to Boston's history and architecture, including copper accents that nod to Paul Revere’s copper plating company.
The hotel will feature a Sky Lobby on its 17th, 18th and 19th floors, the centerpiece of which will be a grand staircase spanning the three stories. Food and beverage concepts will include a Portuguese restaurant helmed by Chef George Mendes, a long bar and terrace serving cocktails alongside city views, and a sky bar with drinks and small bites. An old-fashioned speakeasy will also offer drinks, and the Writers’ Lounge will pay homage to literati who have stayed at Raffles hotels worldwide, such as Ernest Hemingway, W. Somerset Maugham and Noel Coward.
Raffles Boston also will contain a 19th-floor ballroom, meeting rooms and breakout rooms, a 20-meter swimming pool and a state-of-the-art gym.
The hotel was a collaboration of Trinity Stuart Development, a partnership between developer The Noannet Group and hotelier Gary Saunders, and equity partner Cain International.
