Storied Singaporean hotel brand Raffles Hotels & Resorts opened its first North American location, the 147-room property Raffles Boston, to guests on Sept. 15.
The hotel is adjacent to social and athletic club The University Club and Boston’s Back Bay train station. It’s also within walking distance to Copley Square, Trinity Church and luxury shopping at Copley Place.
The new-build hotel — which boasts a 17th-floor “Sky Lobby” — features four food and beverage venues. Amar by Chef George Mendes serves modern Portuguese cuisine; Long Bar & Terrace pairs cocktails with views of Boston’s South End; Speakeasy offers craft cocktails and small bites; and the Writer’s Lounge pays homage to the original Raffles lounge in Singapore that drew esteemed writers throughout its history.
Other amenities include a gym with a 20-meter indoor pool and the Guerlain Spa, which offers treatments in partnership with the Parisian beauty brand.
Chelsea, Massachusetts-based The Architectural Team led the exterior architecture. Inside, New York-based firms Stonehill Taylor and Rockwell Group designed the guest rooms and fitness center, respectively.
Raffles is an Accor brand. The mixed-use Raffles Boston development also features luxury residences.
