- The initiative is part of Wyndham Business, a B2B loyalty program Wyndham expanded in 2024. Hotel companies’ loyalty offerings are increasingly targeting business travel programs.
Dive Insight:
Through Recharge with Wyndham, truckers whose employers are enrolled in Wyndham Business can earn points that grant them up to two free nights annually.
Wyndham also partnered with travel site Hotels4Truckers, the company announced Thursday, offering 15% off the best available rate to drivers who book Wyndham hotels on a Hotels4Truckers platform.
The site also allows drivers to use their Recharge by Wyndham benefits when booking, and provides information on hotels’ trucker-friendly parking options.
“Truckers are an essential part of the workforce and we know their time is valuable,” said Angie Gadwood, senior vice president of global sales at Wyndham, in a statement. Recharge with Wyndham, she added, helps “drivers put their safety and rest first while making it easier than ever to build up points toward their next free stay.”
There are nearly 4 million truckers in the U.S. and Canada, according to Wyndham, and regulations require them to get 34 or 36 hours of rest in order to reset their weekly driving limits.
Wyndham launched the B2B extension of its loyalty program last April amid positive growth trends for business travel. Wyndham Business allows enrolled companies to earn points on business stays, in addition to the benefits already available to them, such as room discounts, direct billing and account support.
Hilton launched a similar program, Hilton for Business, in early 2024.
