Charleston, SC – May 29, 2025 – The Restoration Hotel, a 54-room boutique retreat nestled on iconic King Street, proudly announces the completion of an inspired interior refresh, unveiling newly reimagined guest rooms and updated shared spaces from the welcoming lobby to the elevators.  

Inspired by Charleston’s rich history and lively spirit, the redesign blends classic details with modern comfort, inviting guests to experience the city in a way that feels both adventurous and unmistakably personal. 

Occupying five historic buildings in the heart of the city, The Restoration has long been known for its uniquely laid-out rooms and timeless character. This latest refresh deepens that legacy, layering in modern amenities and a relaxed, residential atmosphere that feels like a home base for discovery. 

“We added new textures, lighting, and timeless pieces to make our rooms feel like you’re staying in a friend’s beautifully designed guest room, rather than a commercial hotel,” said Kadi Anderson, Director of Design for The Restoration Hotel Collection. “We wanted the rooms to feel inviting and personal, with a modern touch that still honors the building’s history and Charleston’s character.” 

Working with Coast to Coast Custom Furniture, the new rooms feature a softer, more refined palette rooted in the hotel’s signature indigo blue, paired with earthy terracotta, moss green, pale blue, and warm neutrals. These tones complement rich materials like marble, walnut, velvet, and cane, echoing Charleston’s coastal influence and Southern craftsmanship. 

At the center of each room is a grand indigo blue bed with curved panels and brass feet, a bold focal point designed for both style and practicality. Smaller accents, such as pineapple bookends (a traditional symbol of Southern hospitality), add character and warmth. The redesign also preserves beloved original elements, including the cathedral mirrors, a brand signature that nods to Charleston’s skyline and historic churches, and antique typewriters outfitted with custom printed welcome notes for guests.  

The redesigned rooms set the stage for a complete guest experience, where mornings begin with craft coffee at The Rise Coffee Bar and evenings unfold with southern-inspired cuisine and sweeping sunset views at The Watch Rooftop Kitchen & Spirits. Every corner of the hotel invites guests to find their adventure wrapped in comfort, whether they’re savoring Lowcountry flavors, exploring Charleston’s cobblestone streets, or simply unwinding in thoughtfully refreshed spaces.
